Exam in Croatian Language and Latin Script Proficiency

The Rijeka School of Croatian Studies organizes and conducts testing of proficiency in the Croatian language and the Latin script. The exams for assessing knowledge of Croatian as a second and foreign language are intended for candidates who require a certificate of proficiency in Croatian as a prerequisite for obtaining permanent residence permits, enrolling in higher education institutions in the Republic of Croatia, recognition of foreign diplomas, employment, acquisition of citizenship, and other purposes.

Instructions for Foreigners Taking the Croatian Language and Latin Script Proficiency Exam

1. How can I apply for the exam?

When applying, it is necessary to:

  • fill out the application form,

  • priložiti potvrdu o uplati,

  • attach a valid document (e.g., passport or another official travel document used for crossing the state border).

The exam fee is €150.00 per candidate.
Payment is made via a standard payment slip using the following details:

Exam registration must be completed no later than ten days before the exam date.

The exam is held at the Department of Croatian Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka, in the Campus building at Trsat: Sveučilišna avenija 4, Rijeka.
