Between 2018 and 2021, the Rijeka School of Croatian Studies participated in the project Strategic Internationalization of Graduate Studies in Mathematics and Biotechnology – OPTILIFE, funded by the European Social Fund. Within the project, Dr. Sandra Marman, Senior Lecturer, and Assoc. prof. dr. sc. Željka Macan designed and delivered courses in Croatian as a foreign language for project participants. A special component of the courses was dedicated to Croatian as a foreign language for specific purposes.

The project was coordinated by the University of Rijeka, in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology and the Department of Mathematics. Project partners included the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka and the company Login d.o.o.
