Examination in the Croatian Language and the Latin Script

The Rijeka School of Croatian Studies organizes and administers the Examination in Croatian Language and Latin Script. This exam is designed for candidates who require a certificate of Croatian language proficiency as a prerequisite for obtaining permanent residence permits, enrolling in higher education institutions in Croatia, recognition of foreign diplomas, employment, acquiring Croatian citizenship, and other official purposes. other.

When applying, candidates must present a valid passport or another official travel document.

The examination fee for the Examination in Croatian Language and Latin Script is 150 EUR per candidate.

Applications must be submitted at least ten days prior to the exam date, accompanied by proof of payment and a valid identification document.

Exams are held at the Department of Croatian Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka, located in the Campus building in Trsat, Sveučilišna avenija 4, Rijeka.

The program can be delivered live, online, and hybrid, depending on the specific group of participants who have expressed interest in attending it.

Exam components:

Listening comprehension
Reading comprehension
Knowledge of grammar structures/Language in Use
Written expression/task
Oral expression/task

To pass the test, candidates must achieve a minimum of 60% of the correct answers in each section. For the oral part, candidates have to prepare a short presentation (5 minutes) on a topic from everyday life, followed by a discussion with the examiner.

→ Upon successful completion, candidates receive an official certificate signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka.
