The Rijeka School of Croatian Studies successfully collaborates with higher education institutions abroad and with experts in the fields of acquiring Croatian as a second and foreign language, language pedagogy, and multilingualism. It actively participates in the preparation and running of international projects and joint study programmes.

The content and expected outcomes of our courses and lifelong learning programmes highlight the inseparable link between language and culture. They develop intercultural competence, encourage reflection on diversity and otherness, and foster an understanding of Croatian linguistic and cultural identity within a broader context. The Rijeka School of Croatian Studies successfully collaborates with Croatia’s Ministry of Demography and Immigration and the Central State Office for Croats Abroad. In its research and projects, it also focuses on Croatian as a heritage and ancestral language.
